I thought about venturing out and seeing where my quest for light would take me. So, I did a walk about poking around here and there, gazing at lanterns, and light fixtures. I snapped a few photos but nothing seemed to tickle my fancy. Then it occurred to me, all of this, all of these are artificial. In a country such as the Dominican Republic, where electricity costs are high and where electricity is unreliable, I suddenly felt the urge to look at this Travel Theme challenge in terms of natural light. I’ve posted these pictures before on Loca Gringa, but somehow, when thinking in terms of Light, I liked the direction this was taking. What better source of light … our sun! Spherical, miraculous, and always available somewhere on our planet, even if hidden by a cloud! This is my tribute to the sun and it’s lovely light and reflections.
I hope you enjoy!
Thanx to:
for offering up the challenge of this assignment.

Thankyou, sometimes the camera gets spectacular shots and you just don’t realise how good they are until you upload them 🙂
It’s a great place, ‘cmon down!
I would love to!
Lovely photos.
Thank you very much. I enjoyed taking them.
Stunning, really stunning – great captures.
Love the one at the water/rock & the one with the big beach leaves. Beautiful!
Thank you very much. It’s always a pleasure to experiment.
